Rhaegar & Lyanna | But that's a sadder story.

"Prince Rhaegar loved his Lady Lyanna and thousands died for it."

I think this video was one of the most challenging ones I've done this year. Not editing wise, of course (because my editing is simple and not hard to follow through), but I feel so rusty with crossovers and manips that I honestly thought I wasn't gonna be able to finish it xD Even though I made 0 masking this was still hard to accomplish, and I feel somewhat proud that I got it done after all.

This is my take on the mysterious tale of Lyanna Stark, the woman that unintentionally ignited a rebellion. If I had any doubts before that she actually ran away with Rhaegar rather than got kidnapped by him, editing this video totally changed my mind. I am now 100% convinced that they ran away together because they fell in love, there's just too much indication for that. The fact that Lyanna was a wild spirit and was unhappy with her betrothal to Robert, the fact that Rhaegar was well loved by his people, and that everyone seemed to think highly of him (including Ser Barristan who was a very loyal and honorable man). Littlefinger's weird little smile when Sansa said Rheagar had 'kindapped and raped' her aunt, Lyanna holding roses in her deathbed, symbolism to the ones Rhaegar gave her at the tourney and the fact the prince whispered 'a woman's name' just befor he died...I mean....duhh??

And weirdly enough, the biggest evidence for me (what makes me truly think they loved each other) is how much Robert despises Rhaegar, even after all these years.

Now this is where my headcanon differs a bit from the most accepted ones xD

I don't think Robert was clueless about Rhaegar and Lyanna's relationship, like most people believe. I do think he suspected it, or even knew, that whatever feelings Rhaegar made known on the day he crowned her queen of love and beauty, Lyanna reciprocated, and when she was 'kidnapped' he KNEW that she had gone willingly. That's why he hated Rhaegar SO much. Now, of course thinking your beloved was kindapped and raped would make you angry, disgusted, blind with ire...but idk, whenever Robert was talking about Lyanna it felt like, more than angry he was almost...hurt?

In my head, Robert knew Rhaegar and her were taken with each other and he hated Rhaegar all the more because he was able to make Lyanna love him when he couldn't. And he let everyone believe the prince had truly done those awful things to the Lady Stark so Rhaegar would be a monster in people's eyes as much as he was in his.

But there's no indication Rhaegar was a monster, there's plenty of evidence, however, that he was noble, and kind, and that he 'loved his lady Lyanna', not really the crazy rapist profile xD And I don't believe even Robert was thick enough to buy that.

Of course I might have gotten this all wrong but, well, we don't really know a lot about their story do we? I'm a helpless romantic at heart and my mind wanders to the most unbeliveable, heart-breaking, Romeo and Juliet-ish theories by default LMFAO.
